I'm unable to get the embed links from my mobile browser, sorry. I'm hitting a 6 iron in this video. The second vid shows my miss, a big push with too little draw but I also sometimes hit way too much draw without enough push...

The last swing in this vid is my 'desired' ball flight :) Some improvements over this:

Thanks!

I like your swing--reminds me of Camilo Villegas.

You have an unusual set up, very straight legged and not much distance between end of club shaft and your body.

Please post a face on view for ball position, etc--you appear to have a good move forward with the lower body to initiate the forward swing and the right elbow drops back down to your side.  If anything, you might have the tendency to swing too much in to out with the club shaft dropping under plane.

Yea, question about that, does it look like my backswing is short because I don't hinge my wrist much or because I just don't turn as much? I'm happy with my distances overall which are pretty standard, I use my 6 iron from 180-185. I'll try to get a face on but that's always difficult given the setup of the golf dome.

Thanks for your comments.

I like the length of your backswing--you do a good job of staying on plane and not lifting your arms up to go above and across the plane (like many do).  At the top of the backswing, you do lose a bit of the pressure point between your right arm and right arm pit, but you regain the pressure point as you initiate the forward swing.

From what I can see, you make a good hip turn--I'm gonna be a bit ticky tacky here, but at the very top of the backswing, you lean toward the ball a smidgen (your torso and head sort of shift toward the ball and down a fraction).

I must say that I am impressed by how well you drop your right arm down at the beginning of the forward swing--you generate a lot of lag ala Sergio with this move.

In the forward swing, your right knee goes out toward the ball, try extending the right leg more so that the right leg goes straight forward instead of out toward the ball.

With a face on view, I could get a better view of your arm, leg, and spine extension into impact (and ball position)

William, a face-on view and a better aligned DTL view will help tremendously.

I'm pretty sure your head goes back on the downswing and you uncock the club to try to get the club on the inside. You lose your lag pressure really early and whip-flip the clubhead through the ball.

Lol, I've never heard of whip-flip before. I'll try to get those soon, maybe tonight.

I just made it up. It seems to fit, at least in my opinion. You release the lag so aggressively through impact that you don't just "flip" the club, you "whip-flip" it.

Well I like it (the term), might catch on. :) We'll have to get that face on view to see what is going on there.

Just wanted to post to say how cool it was to see a true before & after swing change -- I know it's a couple of years between videos, but still.  Most of the time, when golfers try to make changes, they only achieve maybe 20% of what is actually needed, but you show real improvement.  However, that Roy McAvoy finish may need work.

Thanks, I find with my follow through that it's easier to wing the club behind me If I hit a bad shot. :) I'm going to try lessons for the first time this year, so I hope to see some improvement from that. Up to this point I've just relied on forum advice and knowing that I had to keep changing things until my ball started a few yards right and curved a few yards left. I think I hit a million shots and thought, wrong, wrong, etc... Until I finally hit a shot I was happy with. :)

Whoa, just noticed that? Why am I doing that? (what does it cause?) Also, Iacas I was hoping for a little more info out of you... I just watched a tiger vid to figure out what the head should do, it looked like it dropped and moved back a little, he was hitting driver though. Hmm, Hogan grid shows the head moving forward on the downswing.

Depends what your head does on the backswing.

EDIT* Your hips are coming off the wall and you are leaning back to keep the club on the inside.

How should I keep the club on the inside? It sounds like I'm doing it one way but should be doing it another way. And by off the wall do you mean shifting forward dtl?

That's one of the problems Tiger's been working to fix. You do the same thing... you're trying to do everything in the world to get the club to the inside. You uncock, drop it under the plane, and tilt your head back.

You need to make EVERYTHING go forward in the downswing. Feel your hips going well outside of your left foot, feel your head moving forward a foot... take everything forward.

Thanks! As you probably know, I do struggle with getting my low point in front of the ball, I get pretty good contact but I can't get that 4 inches in front of the ball low point, it just feels impossible. I suppose this is why. So it looks like I'm a little underplane then? Thats a pretty big change since my shank vid. I do find that sometimes when I feel like I'm hitting the ball really well I'm starting the ball way to far right and drawing it left of the fairway, especially with my 3 wood. It looks great at first but then it keep turning.

Could you explain where the uncocking occurs? I'm not sure where that is happening.

I'll work on these things, Thanks again!

If you were to set up with your butt against a wall, during your transition/downswing your butt is coming off that wall. That means your body is going to be more vertical and be in the way. What you are doing to compensate is to lean back. The wrists breaking down is just a result of putting yourself in that position.

Hips need to be more lateral and stay on the wall. A good key is to look at the right knee.
