Playing with my MP68's for 1st time tomorrow...

I have been playing with Callaway irons for the past 12 years....I scored a pretty good deal on a set of Mizuno MP 68's 5-PW,along with the 52,56,60 MT 10 wedges.  I am playing with these for the first time tomorrow.  I have hit about 150 balls with them and like the feel so far...You know immediately how you hit it. I am a bit nervous in that you do hear that blades are for very low handicappers. Will report back.

You need a change attitude. Tell yourself that blades are exactly what your game needs to get you to single digit handi. The added feedback will let you hone in and perfect your ball striking and drop a few strokes.

Well, I'm back from my round at Genoa Lakes (35 to 47 degrees/a bit frozen ground wise) .... I did not play well at all.  Not all of it was the new irons, as I hit some very poor shots with my other clubs.  I have to say that these irons give you immediate feedback as to how you hit the ball.  The one thing I did notice was that on several occasions I hit a shot...say a 7 or 8 iron, and it was right on line, looking pretty good, and then came up very short....so obviously a toe or heel.  On some of the shots, it was very evident I did not make good contact.  I feel that in the end, these will be a good fit for my game, but right now, I look forward to my next round, as it can only get better.

The importance of hitting the sweet spot on a blade is one thing that you will find out very quickly with the MP68s.  Alot of people always say that X blade club is shorter then their previous clubs which isn't necessarily the case.  They aren't hitting the sweet spot enough which makes things appear that the clubs are "shorter" distance wise.

Personally, I don't think that this is a negative thing because the importance of hitting the sweet spot should be a demand no matter what club you play.  So with the MP68s, you will over time groove a more consistent swing to ensure better contact.
