Folks ---

I'm probably going to be able to luck up into a (virtually) free trip to Austin at the end of March. Was thinking about bringing the sticks. Do you guys have any suggestions for places I can/should play? Not looking to break the bank here, as I'll be with my dad who is clinically cheap and will probably refuse to play somewhere without a senior rate.

I found some courses through www.texasoutside.com that seemed promising (but who knows !). Anyone have any feedback on those, or any other suggestions from in and around Austin?

Don't really know much about the courses in the area, but I can tell you about the weather. Rain is a concern as March-May are the main months for rain, but it's nothing too extreme. Highs can range from low 50's - low 90's, though I would generally think it would be more in the high 70's - low 80's. Wind will almost certainly be an issue, mostly between 10-15 mph almost all the time. However, if you're not familiar with Texas weather, we have a saying for it: "If you don't like the weather in Texas, wait 15 minutes!"

Austin is also in the heart of the Texas Hill Country, so be sure you work on your up/down/sidehill lies.

Hope you have a good time in our state and enjoy the nice weather.

Your desire to change has to be greater than your desire to stay the same.
