MatchPlay - J.B. on 18 vs. Bubba - drip irrigation relief ruling

Did anyone see the Homes/Watson match yesterday? Can someone explain why J.B. got relief twice from the drip irrigation on 18 green? He didn't drop a 2nd time from the first club-length's location, he dropped the second time from the location of where his first drop came to rest? I didn't follow that. There didn't seem to be anything man-made in his way allowing additional relief - a bush was in his way and it looked like he was going to bail out into the trap since he didn't have a shot at the green.

There was another drip line a few inches away from his ball after taking the first drop. JB claimed it would interfere with his swing (I wasn't convinced of that - it would have to have been quite an in-to-out swing but whatever) so the official allowed him the second relief.
