After watching these I already see some stuff I need to change. Critique much appreciated.

Grip:  Right hand in a really strong position.  Left hand is neutral.  Align your hands so the grip is the same "strength".  Try weakening your right hand and strengthening your left hand, so the hands will work more in unison.

Backswing:  Very flat shoulder turn.  Try turning your shoulders steeper (might feel you are turning left shoulder down)  Clubhead and shaft go under and behind your hands very early.  Left knee goes toward your rear foot significantly.  Really impressive flexibility for a big guy, but the backswing is overly long with the arms.   At the top of the backswing, the club goes across your body.

Downswing/Forwardswing:  Lots of good things here.  I'll paraphrase Hale Irwin "I'm glad I don't hit the ball with my backswing."  You generate great lag and keep it long into the downswing.  You do this by getting your right elbow back onto your right hip and keeping your forearms together while maintaining right wrist hinge.

I'd been trying to play with a little stronger grip to try to get the club face more closed (to the swing path) and combat my tendency to....over fade the ball I used to have a horrid slice, er, big fade that went further right than it did forward. That's mostly gone now, but my default miss is still too much of a straight fade. And if I try to turn the club over through impact on purpose, I get a big hook. My irons mostly push, with the longer ones being a push fade. I do almost have a Tommy Gainey right hand going on there though, lol.

In all my videos I seem to be leading the downswing with a shoulder lean to the target. I think I'm also letting go of my lag a lot earlier than I thought I was. I'm probably leaving a lot of distance on the table. Those drives that day weren't going as far as I've seen in the past.

Any tips out there for getting the club face to close better (to the swing path) without trying to do it consciously?

It will be conscious until you practice it enough for it to become natural. And hey, if you only have one swing thought, that being it, that's not so bad. In regards to your downswing. I actually like the timing you have there, with the hips and the upper body. I've seen far worse. Have you tried swinging slower on the range, just to be able to think of the moves while swinging. My buddy saw Jim Flick and I was invited to tag along to his last session. Mr. Flick wanted my buddy to practice at a small fraction of full swing speed. I bet if you did that combined with finding that timing of "turning the club over through impact" for a few sessions, you'll be on your way to curing your slice/fade/push you got going on. Plus feeling more natural.

You're a pretty big looking dude. I bet when you catch one, its nuked!

I've tried the drill where you try to do a full swing slow and smooth enough to only drive 100 yards or so. It's funny how that swing will still get me to 200 yards but I still try to put my 300 yard swing on everything, lol. I'll spend some more time with the slow drills :D

I'm right at 6 foot 1 and 260lbs (need to put down the pizza and hit the P90X, lol). My average drive on the range is right at 260 with the range balls. 280ish on the course with good balls. My best laser and gps measured on course drive was 314. I've broken 300 several times, but the 260 yard overfade shows up more often than the long ones.

Another question I have is about my ball flight height. They say you should launch it about the height of a 5 story building. I'd say mine goes as high as a 10 story building. My drives just land straight down and don't seem to roll out at all. Is this just a result of hitting it on the upswing too much? It only seems to do this with my driver. My 3 wood has a more penetrating ball flight. The driver is a 9.5° and the 3 wood is a 15°.

I've been Playing Golf for: Maybe a cumulative year out of the last 20.

My current handicap index or average score is: Low to mid 40s over 9.

My typical ball flight is: Straight or a fade.

The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: At this point, probably the occasional fat shot.

Videos:

These are a bit old, but a good representation of my swing. I will try to get some more recent ones to post soon.

Not bad..keep on working on it

Like working on the swing,,score means nothing to me. Might just go to the range and give up playing... ( might happen)

My apologies to the mod that had to combine these. I didn't realize I had already posted one two years ago, lol.

    • To flog this subject even further, if that's even possible, this article from Golf Monthly just appeared today in one of my news feeds. Written by a golf writer in the UK who I never heard of, he's basically saying that there should be only 3-5 rounds from the most recent 20 that should count towards the average and only competitive rounds should count. He claims the erratic scorers would have less of an advantage than they do now. He makes a lot of references to "club golfers" in the UK being the ones who are mostly dissatisfied. https://share.google/qmZZBEoJvOxHxJGil  In my experience with my league where we have golfers with indexes ranging from 5 to 40, looking at the weekly results from the past two years, I can detect no pattern that would substantiate the claim that the current system gives an unfair advantage to either erratic golfers (aren't we all?) or higher handicappers. Apparently though, at least in the UK, this seems to be "a thing."
