I have a a tee time this weekend with two foursomes. 6 of the guys i work with and one is a friend i met at the course. now me and the guy i met at the course are the only ones with a real handicap, but there are two others that can touch high 80's, and the other four are complete HACKERS.

my question is how would you guys set up the foursomes.  would you group the 4 better players together? or mix it up?

there is no money on the line just out having fun.

thanks!

Put yourself with the friend from the course (if he doesnt know the other guys), split up the hackers so you guys keep close to the same pace - better golfers will help keep the hackers up to speed

I only had people have issues with pairings once. For my 40th b-day we had a 4 man scramble and I had to set the teams to keep the less than honest players with others that would keep them in line. I put the 2 people that didnt know anyone else with me, but had to separate other friends.

Normally when pairing people, I try to make sure people are with others they know, since I know several golfers that fall apart when playing with strangers.

Have everyone give you their golf ball and toss them up on the first tee. We split them up into groups that way by the balls near each other. Then toss a tee in the air and whoever it points to goes off first. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk

My only problem with golf is that I am usually standing too close to the ball............ after I hit it.

I have done the same thing that LeftyTrevor has done.  Have everyone give you their ball on the first tee.  toss em up and the four that are the farthest right are a foursome.  No one can really complain with showing favors or anything... totally random.

thats a good idea for next time guys, thanks. this time it worked out because four of the guys were late so had to play together no matter what becuase those of us that were on time were already on the 2nd tee.
