I want to check with you guys about on the above. My irons are using riffle 5.5 , my club is 0.5" longer than standard. Here are my distance in yards 3 - 210 4 - 200 5 - 190 6 - 180 7 - 170 8 - 155 9 - 140 P - 125 My P is 48deg loft and the lower clubs are about 4 deg lesser. I notice my shot are higher for 5 to P than others and my ball stop after it lands. If I change to PX 5.4 or DynaGold S300 Will my distance for irons go further and the entire iron play benefit from a lower trajectory ? My driver SS is 102mph, have not measure the irons lately .

This recommendation comes from a similar personal experience. I live in Oklahoma where the wind blows 15-20mph on a calm day. From what you write, I'd suggest trying the same shaft in a 6.0 or the DG S300. Both will give you a lower ball flight. I've had both in my irons, but right now I'm using the DG S300's and love them.

Searched on the True Temper and Project X web sites, and found rather sketchy information. Maybe a clubfitter has better details.

Anyway, The DG S300 has a high kickpoint, encouraging a low ball flight. S300 averages 130 grams per shaft.

The PX Rifle (nonflighted) has an unusual feature: slightly higher launch, but flattens out quickly for a penetrating ball flight. Rifle 6.0 averages 120 grams per shaft.

Also, factor in the torque of each shaft.

You should probably get on a launch monitor and compare the trajectory stats on each shaft. General opinion is that PX 6.0 will play slightly stiffer than S300.

Another thing to consider: Get a ball fitting. Lots of variety in balls these days, might find one that would fly lower and longer.

Focus, connect and follow through!
