As my son has grown over the winter he's outgrowing the cut down set of clubs we had done for him last year.  We're thinking about just reshafting them ourselves, partly to save money & partly just for the experience of it, rather than buying another set since at 5' he's still a bit short for a standard men's set.  The grip installation looks straight forward enough but I have a question on the actual reshafting.  Is there really any reason you couldn't use a standard cutting disk & Dremel to cut a new shaft to length and then use JB Weld epoxy from Home Depot instead of a specialty cutting tool and shafting epoxy to reshaft the clubs?  In other words, I guess the question is how much specialty equipment is really needed and what can be done with just a decent set of generic everyday tools?

Dremel and cutting disk - yes.  JB Weld - NO!!!   Just buy some $5 two-part, quick setting epoxy from your hardware store, they'll have lots.  Just be sure to tip trim the shafts according to the proper profile.  Do one club at a time, epoxy them in as you go.  Butt trim to length after the epoxy has set.  Did I say NO!!!!! to the JB Weld yet?
