Zach Johnson had his first win at Sugarloaf last year so I'm going to choose Hunter Mahan. Who do you guys think will come out on top at this weekend's tour stop?

Keep an eye out for my preview here at The Sand Trap where I put my predictions in there for who I think will win and who I possibly think will sneak up and contend this week at the BellSouth. It will be published in the morning, and then later tomorrow, I'll come discuss it. But to what you said, I wouldn't mind seeing Hunter Mahan win the tournament, as he is an Oklahoma State guy. And I always pull for my Cowboys!

I was just watching the Golf Channel before work, and it said the tee times have already been pushed back to 10 am ET this morning. But it is probably looking like they won't start until 12-1 pm ET this afternoon, as the storms are still in the area. This just fits into what the players have dealt with all year so far, so no big surprise.

By the way, if you didn't read my preview on the main page at The Sand Trap, I picked Retief Goosen to win this week. I just think all signs lead to him winning, but in golf, you never know..

I think the weather is going to win. I'm sick of this crap happening...if any of the Masters gets rained out I will have a heart attack.

I'm a lefty rooting for Lefty once again...I just hope he doesn't put as much pressure on himself like he did at the Player's Championship. He went out a week early but it didn't help one bit.

Surprise Surprise! It looks as though the 1st round will be set to begin tomorrow morning! Yeah, that is right, the 1st round!!

Play has once again been postponed. I figured we will definitely see alot of players bowing out now and heading on out to Augusta National. I probably would if I were them.

My 2nd round recap should be real exciting tonight!!

Well, I didn't get to watch but a little bit of the golf tournament today. I watched an hour while I was home for lunch, and then I caught the last few playoff holes. The finish was incredible just by watching highlights on Golf Central. And what I saw was great as well. Phil was the only big name, but that playoff still showed what is so great about the game of golf. Those guys were definitely going for it all, and many of them paid the price.

Great ending from what I saw. Oh yeah, Phil won his 3rd tourney of the year and heads into The Masters looking great for a repeat.

It should be a good week.

    • Day 153: putted for a while using the 2 cups drill inside. Working on bead primarily. Contact was really good.
    • Day 8: 12/17/2024 Okay I took my new PPJ swing thought to the range today. I wasn't sure I was quite ready to do so, but I'm glad I did.  When I got it right it was good... really good. When I got it wrong it was a major fail. I hit lots of really ugly ones. But I didn't let that deter me. I stayed committed and focused on the PPJ and I avoided any temptation to go back to what I was doing before just so that I could "look" better at the range. I'm pretty excited about what I saw when I got it right.  I hit the 6 iron mostly (nearly all block work today). I also hit about 6 balls each with the PW, 8I, 5W and Driver. Those had varying degrees of success. I did crack one drive that let me feel and see what the changes will look like once I get fully trained.  Anyway, I'm going to go back to the mirror work for a couple of more days before bringing it back to the range. I do feel like if I can get this right my swing will improve a lot. So I think its worth the effort. I liked the way it looked on GEARs when I get it right, and I like the results I got at the range when I got it right. Now the goal is to work towards getting it right more often.
    • So I think it's that they can't just bend the shaft or hosel to get it to a new lie angle. They adjust that and it changes the weighting, so they have to then adjust all the weights to get it balanced again. I get the impression that it's a bit of an iterative process and they do it all in the US, so they're paying US labor costs to build it and make it work how it's supposed to. Whether you believe in the tech or not, I think that's a true statement.
    • Ah, the old EE in the backswing move. Chest going back and staying down doesn't help.
