Those are feelings, which will be interpreted differently by everyone. So you really have to use video or something to see if it works.

One thing I've had a lot of success with is to straighten then back foot and push it off the ground from the inside. Back knee moves towards the forward knee while the leg straightens and pushes off the ground, rolling to the left, not kicking forward.

You have to experiment to find what works for you. Feel is not real, so checking with a camera is recommended. I've had trouble with forcing the hips so violently forward that my upper body also followed along, which is not what you want. You can also get the hips forward too quickly and rotate them too quickly.

Zeph, I think I have the same problem you had.  In an effort to slide the hips more forward I'm making more of a violent

thrust and bringing my upper center with it.  Really out of sync.  I understand real and feel are not the same.

I feel like I'm in a good position in the backswing but the downswing sequence of the slide, rotate, and tuck is giving me fits

This is a good drill if you struggle with the upper body moving forward.

I started S & T this spring.  Now I can hardly walk.  Can't put any weight on left leg.  Went to the doc, had xrays.  I do have some bone deteriation om my left hip but have never had any pain there . . . til now.  Doc recommends no golf for 2 weeks and then find another swing.  Bummer - S & T really worked for me but will have to experiment with a different swing.  I'm 69 and still a golf fanatic.
