The public-facing stuff (we get to manage forum configuration a little more, boring stuff on the back end) from this release includes:

Private Messages: Folders and Search

With this release, members will be able to search their Inbox and create folders where they can file messages. This upgrade permits users to move PMs between folders, including from the Trash to the Inbox. Your most active members should be very pleased with these enhancements.

Apart from the new functionality, PMs work as before; messages are still threaded, quotas remain in place, and all but the most recent 20 items are deleted from the Trash folder each night.

Post Edit History

Going forward, all edits to forum posts will be logged for administrative review. Similar to Articles, administrators will be able to see a list of edits with a "diff" that shows the changes from the previous version.

Admins and mods will see all timestamps for edits made by other admins and mods. Admin edits will be reflected in the diff history, and posts that were edited by a user 10 minutes after posting will display an "edited by" timestamp.

Profanity Filter

Once enabled, this filter applies to text in thread titles, posts, comments, review titles and bodies, article titles and bodies, list titles and descriptions and items, image captions and album descriptions.

Related Content for Subforums

Now, when you're in a thread, you see products, reviews and other content that shares the same tag(s) as the thread you're viewing. Post-release, this will operate one step higher at the subforum level. Using the tags applied to all threads in a subforum, we'll surface related content from across the site.
