hello, i am an average golfer who has been playing for almost two years now. that being said i have showed much improvement and actually have a decent swing. I USED to slice my driver almost every time and it drove me crazy. I eventually corrected the slice by correcting my swing path with my driver so that it was more on plane. for about two rounds of golf i blasted all my drives about 275 dead straight down the middle and i thought i was set. Earlier this week, however, my drive began to duck hook and i could not figure out why. it has been this way ever since and i am having no luck in fixing it. I hit my irons very well ( with a slight draw) and the hook is almost never evident there unless it is a very bad miss. My swing is the same for all my clubs so i need help figuring out why i am duck hooking my driver

I'd say catch a video and post it, there are lots of people here willing to give good advice.

I just had this same problem, almost exactly. I went to my golf pro and he corrected it for me. I was starting with to closed of a clubface and wasn't opening it up in my backswing. I also wasnt having my hands forward enough. Try to keep ur hands more infront of your clubface and opening your club face. Good luck

I was having this same problem last year. I made a small grip change and a set up change that fixed it for me. In my driver setup I was leaning shaft forward at address. I'm now maybe slightly the other way leaning back at address. Also I was putting my right thumb (right handed) down the shaft on my grip. My thumb now goes around grip like my other fingers. I'm NOT a pro but this is what worked for me.

    • Wow, 65 factorial? That’s quite old 😜 Good to see you’re healthy enough to get back at it.
    • I was about to post something. @iacas just sent me a video earlier today, I appreciate it. I decided to not post something and just focus on getting back to work.
    • Shot a six over par  41. Kind of one of those rounds work off is stupid. I had only two flushed shots the entire nine holes. One was a T-ball that ended up pretty good. The other was a six iron on hole nine a par 3. But the sixth iron ended up being a pulll draw that ended up about 25 yards left of the green.
    • Day 283 - 2025-07-10 Got some work in while waiting for someone to show up for a GEARS lesson (they did not, and haven't reached out in 24 hours, so I'm getting a bit worried). Also recorded a video for @saevel25.
    • I agree. Personally, I've been watching the LPGA for a couple decades. My wife and I attended the US Women's Open in Edina, MN way back in 2008.  Two comments:  1 - I also enjoy another women's sport; Softball. The College Softball World Series is a big event in our household. Interestingly, my niece plays softball and my nephew plays baseball. Often we go watch them both play the same weekend. Both games will have the same start time. I have to say I enjoy the softball more than the baseball. The women are on a 20 second pitch clock. Yeah, you read that right 20 seconds. Plus, the players stand in the dugout the entire game and sing and/or chant stuff the whole time. Tons of energy. The game moves along at a fast pace. We often watch my niece's entire game and then go over to watch my nephew and they are in the 3rd inning. The baseball seems to move at a crawl after coming over from the softball game.  2 - My daughter and I have taken to watching the youtube channel "The Golf Girl Games". Great content. Very entertaining. If you haven't watched them yet, I recommend them.
