So I just picked up a R11 from a guy I golfed with, he doesnt like it for some reason. The shaft on it is a Stiff but its not stiff enough for me. A buddy of mine has a R9 with a Xstiff shaft and he wants to trade shafts. What will this do to the club accuracy? Can it even be done?

Thanks

Mande

Yes, it's as simple as popping the shaft out of the R9 and putting into the R11 and tightening it up.  The R9/R11 hosels look a little different are labeled differently but the tips/shafts are interchangeable.

I've got my R9 shaft in my R11 right now.

I think the way the Tip notations transfer for a righty

R9 - R11

N - N

L - +1 degree higher

R - -1 degree lower

NU - NU

What Hokie said. I've got an R11 but have often used the shaft from my R9 with the R9 tip.

Yup, what they all said is correct.  The two tips are interchangeable.  They look a little different but all work.  And for the X-stiff vs. stiff if truly you need x-stiff, it should help with dispersion during your shots.  Good luck and enjoy the new shaft!

  • 1 month later...

i bought an r11 9* it came today with a stock shaft and a ripXstiff adlia r9 shaft. I set the r9 shaft FCT at N using the arrow on the back of the r11 hosel and the sole plate at N. I hit some balls with the heavier wt in the back then switched the wt to the front. The driver performed as good as I could of ever imagined. I'm i setting the FCTcorrectly ? i think the N setting is for 9*?

Thanks
