I went other because I think that a fit club is best.  the age of the club doesn't matter, but having it fit to your swing does.

Voted 'other' meaning to get fitted.

Was fitted for driver last spring, fairways hit went from about 40% to almost 75%.  It's amazing how much detail they can analyze about your swing and ball flight and recommend the right gear to optimize launch, spin, and angles.  Made a huge difference for me off the tee, only gained a little yardage but the control I gained is incredible.  I used to fight a hook with the driver, now as long as I practice consistently I can maintain a 10 yard draw that gives me a lot more confidence than I used to have.

Was just fitted for irons two weeks ago and my new fitted Razr X tours will be here today (so of course it is predicted to rain here for the next five days!), hopefully with a little practice I'll see improvement in GIR I need to get below a 10 hdcp.

Wedges are next when funds allow.

best way to improve from an 18 handicap in my opinion is to try and play every round like its a tournament round.  practice your short game and try to get it up and down from inside the ropes around the greens.

I voted other: buy a camera and work with your instructor so you know how to use it and what to look for. ;-)
