Oversized grip on your putter.....

I lost my White Ice putter......

I have a Wilson NFL bag, and it has the putter tube on the side, well I put a bigger grip (Med Winn) on my putter, and it did not fit. So I just took the tube part off the bag making just a platform that the bottom of the grip so the putter can sit on, and then clip into the piece at the top.... It worked for a while....Then it was falling off here and there (cart straps on the carts don’t help either) and I was putting it back on.. Seemed fine for a while, I went golfing yesterday... NO PUTTER ON MY BAG... Oh crap... I looked everywhere.. No putter found.. Forced to go buy a new one.. And I put the same grip (I love it) back on my putter.

Back to the point, I am wondering if I am just out of luck being that the bag is pretty much eff'd and just deal with putting the putter inside the bag. Or, get a different bag that would hold it (as you can tell I really like the tube) and keep it organized. Or finally, if there is something I can get or buy to put it on and have it hold it in place... Need some options, or what you have done in this situation.

Buy a new bag w/ lots of padded dividers...Ogio is my favorite!

Basically, graphite shafted woods should have head covers that protect the shafts...& do not need tubes....!

If you have graphite shafted Irons... you can just buy the light weight tubes, cut them to lenghth & fasten them (w/ nylon ties) in small clusters

& insert them where needed  in a new bag's padded dividers...!

It's a great feel to easily slide a club into & out of your bag & a drag when they get stuck, as we all know.

PS

I put an over sized putter grip years ago  on my anser 2 & it really helps lock your wrists

for a nice one piece stroke. Problem for me is that I lost feel of the club head & went back to a std pistol grip .

I guess I could have weighted the head.....nah...!

I got tired Of my putter always getting underneath the separators and made a sleeve with a bottom for it out of some plastic sheeting I bought at a hardware store.
