I have tried to wean myself away from my long putter for years.

It looks like I have finally found a short combination I like!

Put a White Super Stroke Ultra Slim on my retired 2 ball DFX...

Amazing difference...

The SS Ultra Slim has kind of a reverse taper....

which fits my left hand low grip perfectly!

I had previously tried a Tigershark Jumbo

but found it "dead" feeling in my hands. Bad distance control.

The softness of the SS with slimmer grip works...

I now can "feel" the distance my right hand but it does not overpower.

Sadly I may regret color choice of white...

I am wondering it it will look terrible after 50 or so rounds???

I'm also careful pulling from bag... feels like it could tear easily???

Looking for a quick $10-12 experiment.... Give SS Ultra Slim a try!

I wouldn't take anything for my long putter. I love it more every day. Sometimes I walk off the green wondering how long putters are even legal.

I wonder sometimes why they would ever be considered legal and shortly after if I can swallow my pride long enough to try one.  :)

I always argued my long putter was clearly legal since the grip end of the club never touched my body... no third point touching unlike the belly putters which I think should be banned.. My upper hand touched my body but the club was always gripped by my hands.  Over one week into my switch and I think this is going to be permanent. The softer grip seems to help me zero in on the correct pace & distance.  The one place I still miss the tall putter is on big bending long putts. Standing tall allowed me to see both the pin and the line. Short putter forces me to trust my speed and putt the line. Theory is the line is read then all putts are stroked straight.
