I just took up golf again after eight years of being my terminally ill wife's caretaker whenever I wasn't at work.  There were no vacations and no spare time during those years. We now have her son living with us who can help with his mom, and we decided it was time for me to do some things for myself.  Naturally, a return to golf came to mind.  I followed Nickent when I was playing, and recently bought a new Nickent 4DX Evolver CYG, a couple of extra shafts for the Evolver, three 4DX hybrids, and a couple of matching wedges.  I've been to the range 15 or so times to try to get my swing back (making a little more progress every time out) and am making my first trip back to the course next week.  EVERY new Nickent club that I have is longer and straighter than anything that I have ever owned, so I'm hoping to find a moderately used set of 4DXCB irons, in a senior (preferred but not absolute) or regular graphite shaft.  I've never been one to have a full bag of the same clubs but in this case I want to make an exception since the prices are right and the club quality seems to be top-notch.  It's been tough to find iron sets, and the one I see on eBay is more than a little beat up.  I'm looking for one of those "new to me" bargains if I can find one.  When my priorities changed for those years ago I was a 14 handicap.  Is the consensus that these would be a good option for a former mid-handicapper like me?

Thanks, Mike

Nickent stuff has become harder and harder to find as time has gone by. The only somewhat reliable source for Iron sets is really ebay.

Check out the DallasGolf Ebay Store as well as private sellers. You will probably find one eventually however Nickent is not the only deal around id look at other options as well good deals are plentiful if your willing to take used clubs.

Which do you think is easier to hit- the 3DX RC or the 4DX CB?  The 3DXs are a whole lot easier to find.

BTW, I bought the 4DX CB Gap and Sand Wedges from Dallas Golf.  Good company, great clubs, horrible 3M GReptile grips.  I'm changing the grips out tomorrow.

The 3DX line in general is very easy to hit. Ive never swung the 4DX line and their isn't a whole lot of info on them either. I do know they were supposedly designed with less of a game improvement look/feel.

I have to agree with you on those 3M grips. LOL.

I have play Nickent clubs exclusively the last couple years. I have try them all 3DX Pro to 4DX CB to 4DX Pro to ARC blade. I just sold my 4DX pro and 4DX CB last month and about to sell the 3DX. The 3DX Pro and 4DX CB are similar in forgiveness but the 4DX CB have more offset. 4DX Pro and ARC are forged with very little to none offset and less forgiven. I don't like 3DX RC line as much as the other Nickent irons.

Couldn't find the irons so I bought a set of Wilson Staff Di9s.  Great for me just getting back into the game, I think.  I've been to the range 4 times since I got them (they're lofted very strong but they go straight and long) but haven't found the time to get to the course since I bought them, though.  To everyone who took the time to respond, thanks a lot.
