I am looking to change my g5's to one of the above shafts from the stock cs lite regulars.  Can anybody compare/contrast the 2 above?  Has anybody reshafted Ping irons?  How was it?

True Temper has more variety now in its shaft weights.

Dynamic Gold family:

  • DG S300 = 130 gr. | R300 = 127 (both low-launch)
  • DG SL S300 and R300 = 106 gr. (both low-launch) TT bills these as "20% lighter than DGs" (a sales rep at a local Golfsmith reshafted his Titleist irons in DG SL, and says he picked up 10 yards a club)
  • DG XP S300 and R300 = weight falls in between two above (both XPs are mid-launch)

Gold Series family

  • GS 95, 85 75 (shaft number = weight in grams) all are high launch shafts

I tried the GS 85 on a Burner 2.0, and got better clubhead speed over my PX 5.0 (duh!). The GS 85 felt almost too light, however, and I was a little wild on my backswing.

Focus, connect and follow through!
