Shaft flex for Vokey edges

I'm getting closer to replacing my wedges with Vokeys and I had a question about shaft flex.

I play stiff shafts (True Temper S400) in my irons and my current wedges have Apex 4 (stiff) shafts.  Dave Pelz recommends regular flex shafts in wedges according to his Short Game Bible, so I am curious if should consider getting regular flex shafts in my wedges.

On one hand, it makes sense because I will not be making full power swings with them, but rather the 3-positions "dead hands" swings he teaches.  On the other hand, do I want to mix and match my set like that?

Also, is a wedge's shaft the same as the full iron shaft only cut shorter?  If so, it would seem that would actually increase stiffness.  Is this a rational for getting regular flex?

Someone please shed some light, I'm a little confused...

I play with S300 Shafts and play regular Wedge shafts with my wedges. Like you said you are not swinging as hard with your wedges. So Stiffer shafts are not required.

Thanks Zeus, I stopped and talked to the Pro at our club on the way home and he said they specifically come with a "Wedge" flex dynamic Gold shaft, so I probably don't need to change that.
