Hello there.

I'm actually looking for some advice. I've read this forum and like it, so,  thought this would be a good place to ask.

A little back-story for you. I grew up playing links golf in NE Scotland, from about 4 or 5 years old. Love golf. On summer holidays, I would cycle 5 miles to the course with my clubs, play 36 and cycle home again; 4-5 days out of 7. I got down to a low 6 in my mid 20's, then gave up. Late nights and golf the next day is not productive :)

A couple of years later I moved to NY, where I've been for 5 years.

Would say I've played 15 rounds of golf in the last 5 years, pretty much every time I get to see my dad. I played yesterday though, went for a twilight at Bethpage red.

Loved it, want to play more.

Trouble is, I don't have a handicap. It lapsed just before I moved so can't get a certificate. I'd like to play some things locally but have no idea how things work here, really.

Pros at Eisenhower weren't much help :) One guy said to me '10 rounds', which seemed like a stretch.

I live 20 mins from Bethpage, West...which takes in a lot of well kept tracks of course, seems a shame not to play.

So, hi. Where's the best place here to talk to people about this?

Slange.
