Agreed, I am 31 and just starting to get heavy into golf and in a few years when my 7 month old gets a little older I hope he wants to play.

Thank you all for the replies! I'm enjoying all of yalls input...especially the accusations that I'm an old man .

Sorry it has been a while since I have updated this, I've had a lot going on.  Good and bad news.  Firstly, Ive been golfing in pretty much all my spare time and have becoming much more consistent! Makes the game plenty more enjoyable.  But the bad news is I have a manual labor job and I messed up my rotator cuff.  I shrugged it off as a soreness and played 9 holes, but after going to the doctor I learned that its strained.  Looks like no golf for a little while....Its gonna be a long couple of weeks.

Definitely take the time off that you need though.  When you do get back into playing, after your injury betters itself, I'd think about trying some yoga.  Yoga gets a bad rep because most people think it's just "ohms" and meditation, but if you just do it once a week and target the areas where you're least flexible, you're not only preventing further injury, but you're strengthening muscles you hardly ever use.  A couple other perks with yoga is balance, which is a necessity for a golf swing, as well as focus.  It sounds like you're a pretty busy guy though, so if you can work it into your schedule I'd highly recommend it.  Take it easy, and get better so you can hit the links!

I started playing 8 months ago at the age of 32. With a 4 days a week on the range and weekends on the course I am regulary shooting in the 80's, a bad day mid 90's.

You have nothing to worry about.

I wish I started at your age!!!!!!

    • Dublin Coddle (Irish Sausage and Potato Stew is my guess. I would go with haggis, but that is Scottish.
    • These are the courses that I remember, but there may be others that I’m not remembering at the moment. I broke 100 atOakland Hills one time, but what I shot otherwise will be taken to the grave with me.    Country Club of the North - Several LPGA tournaments NCR Country Club South Course - 51st PGA, 41st US Women’s Open, 05 US Senior Open (attended) TPC Michigan - Ford Senior Players Championship Valhalla - 24, 14, 2000, and 96 PGA Championships, 11, and 04 Senior PGA Championships, 08 Ryder Cup Oakland Hills - 08 PGA Championship, 04 Ryder Cup, 96, 85, 61 and other US Opens TPC Sawgrass - The Players Championship

    • For me it was combo of good drama and total last man standing collapse... But it showed me once again that "ball rollback" is nonsense...when courses are set up to punish missed fairways and greens, that's where the quality golf (or total collapse) takes place...hurting the rest of us because a relatively few can bomb it 100 yards farther is idiotic...that Young bomb on 18 was gutsy... He misses the fairway with that he likely doesn't win, at least on that hole...
    • Followed by the longest drive on 18 in the shotlink era. That is a tough shot and he stood up there and did it. Fair play to him.
