What was originally planned as a family trip to see family in Illinois has now morphed into a solo 2 night 3 day golf outing for me.  Non-refundable hotels/time to splurge....equals lots of golf for me.  Arriving in town about 1 pm n Sunday and leaving tues afternoon.  here is the run down as planned but could definately change if better suggestions come in.

sunday twilight-Marysville Country Club-about 20 min from the hotel and cheap walking rate in the afternoon, I am a big fan of walking.

mon morn-Granville country club-donald ross design, played once before excellent track

tues morn-longaberger golf club, hear great things. also weekday coupon for 50ish.

any must plays that i am missing? take into mind that I am trying to do this on the cheap.

thanks for any help

I'm a big fan Eaglesticks. I've played it a few times and it's a fine track.

Thanks for the replies guys.

I looked at both Darby Creek and Eaglesticks in my initial search for course.

I decided over Darby for the Marysville Country Club because it is older and appears from what I could tell to have more charm and is only 17$ to walk Sunday afternoon.  Does anybody have firsthand knowledge of that course.

It was between eaglesticks and longaberger with the later looking to be a notch above, does seem like a fair assessment?

    • It isn't about maintaining focus 100% of the time when you are on the course. It is getting focus back for the shot at hand. Even PGA tour players will chat with their caddies or opponents about non-golf stuff, but then lock in. It is hard to try to constantly be 100% locked in for 4+ hours.  Totally normal thing to happen. You really only need a few moments of focus.  This is where a pre-shot routine helps. Maybe you need to add something that gets the focus back.  I just focus on every shot like a puzzle that needs solved. I like solving puzzle and problems. So, I try to be curious. Which then enhances focus. I think it lets me take each shot at hand. It lets me have the down time between shots. What I do is just get to the ball, and then start gathering information. Yardage, lie, wind, where is the pin at, etc.. Then I figure out what I want to do.  It's not like I can't shut off the thoughts and focus when I need to. I only need to focus for a few minutes before each shot.
