Okay guys I need some help. I like toe-weighted putters, but I am still very new to the game of golf. There is a guy locally who is selling an Odyssey White Hot XG 9 putter for $40. I wanted to know if that's a good deal, or if I should look for the guy to come down on the price? My father has a similar putter that he likes, but he is 700 miles away... If this is in the wrong section of the forum, I will understand if the moderators move it. Thanks for the help!

depends on condition, but that seems like a fair price.  is it legit?

Well, he did send me an email with a photo of the putter (not a stock photo). It looks like it was well taken care of and without major blemish/damage My current set of clubs cost me $40 (beginner set), and I'm trying to slowly piece together a nicer set, little by little. I figure that my driver and putter are my two most important clubs. I also wanna learn more about the game before I invest in an irons set

sounds like you are on the right track, that would probably be a good deal on ebay before shipping and it is a solid heel/toe putter.

Yeah, $40 is a good price if it is in good condition.

Yes, I would say it is a good price. You could get an excellent new putter for $120 but considering the fact that you are just starting out, $40 is a great start for a good Odyssey putter.
