I hope this kid keeps it up- it's fun watching him throw darts at every pin. How do you think he'll finish? I think there's a top ten in his future, but we'll see.......

He is the most highly touted Nationwide grad and hasn't done much yet . . . but 10 under through 10 is some kind of "Hello" to the golfing world.

Now is 10 under thru 12 . . . can you believe these scores today??? What are they going to do with Torrey Pines for the US OPEN?

Snedeker is supposed to be a 'can't miss' golfer, a future star, looks like he can get hot, that's what the tour needs, not just another grinder but someone who creates excitement.

The low scores are on the north course. The south course is MUCH longer and more difficult. The US Open will be on the south only. North is 73.2/130 6874 yards. South is 78.1/143 7607 yards. And the rough will be much longer. It is short this week because of the cold weather. You'll see typical US Open scores in '08.

The missed fairways will catch up to him on the South Course over the weekend, and he will fall down the leaderboard a little. I'll still give him a top-10 finish though.

Also, I'm not sure he is the most highly-touted Nationwide Tour grad either. I've heard a lot more about Johnson Wagner and Jeff Quinney, among others. Quinney has been solid so far this season as well.

I think he'll finish right around 3rd place or so.

Right now John Daly leads the FBR . . . because he's teeing off first! LOL

Snedeker . . . I'd be surprised if lightning strikes twice in 2 weeks, that 61 was on a pitch and putt course with no rough and he made all the putts, he'll have to drive it a lot better this week.

I'm going to see how Jeff Quinney does, he's been really spectacular so far, 2 top 10 finishes with a chance to win both.

    • Hi @RetiredOldMan!  I am glad to see you are still playing and having good scores.  I hope that when I am 79, I am not only able to play, but still able to produce as good scores as you have been doing.   I look forward to hearing more of your success and your opinion of the senior flex shafts.
    • Hello Golfing Buddies, It has been awhile since I posted but I am the Retired Old Man that asked for advice because I suffered two "T.I.A.'s about switching from playing right handed to playing left handed.  I purchased a Callaway Edge Left handed golf clubs. I changed the grips to oversize grips.  Well, two weeks ago and still at 79 years old, I shot a 44 and 47 on a small course in my hometown.  I am currently changing my shafts from regular flex to Senior flex.  So, you can see' it can be done! So, you other old timers; get with the program! Blessings to all of you. Retired Old Man (Terry Warner)

    • Probably since the golfer has to swing the club back and up. The hands have to move back and up. You can feel them go back and up just by turning the shoulders and bending the right arm, because it brings your hands towards your right shoulder.  The difference is if you maintain width or not. Less width means a shorter feeling swing path so the more you need to lift the arms. Being as someone who gets the right arm bend at 110+ degrees, it's 100% a timing issue. I am use to like a 1.5+ second backswing. It probably should be like 1 second at most. Half a second or more will feel like an eternity. I have had swings where I keep my right arm straighter and I am still trying to time the downswing based on the old tempo.  Ideally, for me, it is probably going to be a much quicker and shorter (in duration) backswing, while keeping the right elbow straighter. Which also means more hinging to get swing length without over swinging.
