Recently, I purchased my favorite club.  After a few weeks, I love this club.  It is a TaylorMade SuperLaunch Rescue 1.0 18* replacement for the 3 iron.  The thing is amazing - from virtually any lie, this thing delivers a bomb.  I almost have to try to mishit the ball to not get a good, straight ballflight.  My score, usually in the low-90s, high-80s has dropped about 5 strokes a round, as now long par 4s and par 5s arn't that intimidating.  Anyway, I really love this club.

The shaft in the rescue is a Re Ax 60 with a high launch point, regular flex, and 3* of torque.

I am going to get a new driver, and I like the SuperFast 1.0 drivers (they feel the same in my hand and have the same look at address as the rescue club from the same family).  I am considering having it shafted with the Re Ax 60 like the rescue since I hit the rescue so well.  If you hit a hybrid really well, is there any reason not to have the driver shafted the same way?

The hybrid shaft more than likely is .370" in diameter .If it is, it will not fit in a driver, which would be .335 in diameter.

Ah, too bad.  Thank you for the reply.

I really hit that hybrid club well.  If I get a driver shaft with similar specifications (launch angle, weight, and torque) - would I expect a similar shot pattern / feel?

In theory yes.  However the driver shaft is longer and the head has less loft and weight...

For these 3 reasons it will be very similar.
