Best web hosting company?

maybe... definitely not the best forum to post this on but what the hell. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with renting web hosting. I am getting a website set up for an android app i'm putting out and at first It will just host XML files that will be uploaded and edited via a series of webpages, and downloaded by my application.. I have hopes of one day expanding the site to allow users to have accounts and upload information and have a community forum.

I'm wondering what are some of the better hosting companies you may have used and why? I'm looking for something that is fairly inexpensive to start out with but that will fulfill my needs.

I have used Cirtex hosting and they were pretty good.  Good support, up time was decent (Had my site go down a few times real late at night but it was rare), and the price is very nice.
