Looks like we have a Angel Cabrera and Justin Rose sighting in the Top Ten (at least for now). Ernie at T17 too. Looks to be a good weekend!

Wouldn't mind an each way bet on Matt Kucher, he really looks at home on the Links course.

Aye, but they were fairways he wasn't aiming for...

As is probably obvious from my name, I'm a big Goosen fan... his front nine today... par at one... birdie... then three bogeys . then three birdies then par at nine! Crazy stuff but he's striking the ball well.

Mickelson reckons that next week's winner will come from this week's field... so who is it going to be?

I have the image of somebody running around the course wildly with a machine gun

That's incredible, isn't it? Never seen that happen at a golf course before.

It's a real shame for all those involved.

It was a fantastic decision to move the championship back to a links course and this has been evidenced by both the excellent field and an increase in crowd attendance.

Lets hope they do restart at 7pm tonight (as planned) and manage to at least get a winner after 54 holes tomorrow.

3 landslides at the course and 8cm of rain in 3 hours last night. The pot bunkers look like swimming pools

Yeah it sucks. Was looking forward to watching some of it today. But it's Scotland - the weather sucks.

Much like England and Ireland ( glad my grandparents immigrated from Ireland and Scotland to NZ back in the 30's ) - although I'd be a better links player if they hadn't

2nd round finally over. Extremely close going into the final round...4 tied for the lead and the whole field that made the cut separated by only 7 shots

Posted

And Luke Donald flies into the lead with 3 birdies in a row on 3,4 and 5 and the next hole is a par 5

Posted

And he 2 putts for birdie for a 2 shot lead. He will be getting his 18th top 10 in the last 12 months and confirming why he's #1 if he keeps this up

Exceptional round of 63 by Luke to win by 4 shots. Matt Kuchar was the only other of the 5 players from the World top 10 playing to finish in the top 10.

Luke has made himself the prohibitive favorite for the Open next week. As the world's top-ranked player coming off a dominant performance on the links at Castle Stuart, he has no excuse not to be in contention on Sunday in Sandwich. On the other end of the spectrum, it was another weekend collapse for Graeme McDowell. After sitting on the lead since Friday morning (thanks to the storms), Graeme shot one of only seven rounds over par today; he and fellow co-leader Whiteford were the only two to be found outside the very bottom of the 76-man field who made the cut. Here's a trend that has repeated itself throughout 2011, and for McDowell's sake, I hope he can snap out of it soon.

Besides winning the Scottish Open being akin to winning the Par 3 contest at Augusta

Haha, I can't believe you posted that.  My girlfriend asked me how old he was and I said "O I think he is probably mid 50s", so I look it up and he is 48.

But back on topic, Luke was pretty awesome today.  I'm glad I was pulling for him prior to this year, and I hope he can keep it going.
