Myrtle- help me pick from non-surcharge courses

I'm going down to Myrtle next weekend with 3 hacker buddies. The goal of the trip is kind of as cheap as possible. That being said, the package lets us pick from the following courses without surcharge:
Recommended Courses (available at no additional charge) - I need two from the first category, and one from the after 12 category. Thoughts?

Sea Trail - Jones

Diamond Back

Wicked Stick

Keeping in mind that different people look for different things in courses. I've played a few of the ones you listed. The Meadowlands, Wicked Stick, Carolina National & Waterway Hills. I don't know whether or not you know this, but Carolina National and Meadowlands are in N.C., although they are considered to be Myrtle Beach. And Wicked Stick is toward the south end of the Myrtle Beach area, so there is a significant drive if you're staying in the south part of Myrtle Beach (Surfside Beach, Murrell's Inlet) and have to drive all the way to Carolina National, which is even farther than Meadowlands.

My personal preferences, of the ones I've played: 1. Carolina National, 2. Wicked Stick, 3. Meadowlands, and 4. Waterway Hills. In all honesty, I would be delighted to play any of them. Sorry not to have more info for you.

My picks and why.
Sea Trails maples is my favorite of the 3 there
Diamondback will give you all you want and is usually in good shape.

Definitely drive to Carolina national as it has 3 nines and you can play 27 and all 3 are GREAT Courses
Aberdeen is a good solid Lesser course that also had 3 nines though one may be closed but still solid choice.

Hey, I went down last year. I stayed at the Breakers, found it to be the best deal and decent accomodations. We played Wicked Stick the first day, liked it, played eagles nest the second, did not and played both Myrtlewoods (Palmetto & Pine hills, both of which I found to be quite decent) the final day before the 16 hour drive home (long ass day).

You may want to look at mbgolfwizard.com (i think, if not google myrtle beach golf wizard) found it to be quite informative, it is interactive so you can see what is available.

Hope this helps and I got this in on time for you, enjoy, by the way last year in mid-feb, it was about 16-20 deg. celcius, pack some longer stuff especially for mornings and evenings.

Check broadway at the beach for the restaurants and stuff, and the northern outlet mall is much better than the one to the west (check reebok store for greg norman wear).

I would suggest Sea Trail Jones, Diamond Back and Carolina National. These are all North courses, so you may want to stay North. Have fun!

I agree with flap and eatsleepdrink on the picks. You don't want to be bouncing between NC/North Myrtle and the south end of the strand. You'll spend more time driving than playing. Carolina National is way up in NC - near southport. But with 27 holes, you may not need a second course that day.

If you're going to be playing some of your rounds in (Brunswick County) N.C., I highly recommend River's Edge http://www.river18.com/gallery.html , an Arnold Palmer course in/near Shallotte if it's available on your golf package. It's a little closer to North Myrtle Beach than Carolina National, but River's Edge has only 18 holes, not 27 like Carolina National. Wherever you play, have a great trip, y'all.
