I had to rant somehow/where... the early coverage of wsop on espn is terrible. Not showing hold cards?? Why fix something that ain't broke?

I agree. I cant really see the point in watching when you have no idea what is going on or what the players may be thinking.

I think they might do that to prevent people from cheating.  Although I figured it was just on a broadcast delay so we could still see their cards..

I agree...it's 'live' so they don't do the hole cards thing, but the still have the cameras.  I suspect they'll be running this in repeats in the same format as previous years after the 'live' event is done broadcasting.
