Hi Guys and Gals,

I'm very new to the game, I had a donation set of clubs given to me last year with a bag, which turned out to be juniors, needless to say, I've bought nice new 7pc set of ladies clubs. I've got most everything I need now, but shoes/apparel. I've been to Golf Town a few times, but I get so confused about the shoes, I try them on, the sizes are weird, they hurt my feet or don't fit properly. My other concern, is that I will be moving to Scotland in 2 months, and I want to make sure whatever I get it going to be appropriate for the course (ie: no running/athletic type shoes??). I've kinda 'cheeped out' on the stuff I've bought so far, just because I'm new at it, but shoes that I'm wearing all day - no chance.

Also, if anyone has some advice for appropriate ladies apparel- I would really appreciate the input.

Thanks so much
Samm

Whenever I look at shoes, these ladies ones always catch my eye. No idea if they are comfortable or not, but they look cool. 35 bucks!

Thanks David,

I did try these on, and while most of the shoe was comfortable, I found it was way too tight along the top of my foot. Too bad, they are a great price.

Well, the next time you see them, you should try on a pair. Remember to get 1-size larger..... David.

+1 Women's golf shoes are so much more stylish than the men's shoes. That's why I always end up special ordering my Footjoys. You do have to pay for quality, though.

Well, personally I won't buy Nike clubs b/c they are Nike, a damn shoe company. However, I wear nike kicks b/c they feel the best and they've been designing shoes forever. Although Footjoy seems to be a popular shoe as well.

However, as a white collar employee, constantly wearing dress shoes. I put a comfort insole in my shoes. I'd suggest you pick out an insole and use those when you try the shoes on.

I haven't bought new shoes in 5 years but I find most golf shoes to have hard soles (similar to dress) and weak arches.

Actually, Nike, Dunlop and Bridgestone making golf equipment makes sense to me. To make golf equipment, you really need a good materials engineering department, something these companies had before they got into golf. It wasn't too much expansion to move into this new market.

It's like when Kodak and Fuji made CD-Rs at the onset of these technologies. Same idea.

    • Day 22: Hit balls with 7-iron using mevo+ to track dispersion. Was out for a long time after work; 86 balls but the first 50+ were 50% swings focusing on top of backswing feel and then just hitting the ball as a psychic reward. Finished with 20 balls close to full speed. Pretty happy with dispersion and also no horrendous misses. I’m chunking my priority piece out into two separate feels, first and more important is the position/balance at top of backswing which is what I was working on. Once I have that engrained I’ll move to transition part.
    • FWIW I never really had issues with the previous generation of Snells. But… I'm not sure I played them a ton, either.
    • I know Dean Snell designed the original Pro V along with a couple of other brands tour balls.  How exactly does the Snell ball have problems.  Did he change something in the design or is a manufacturing error since he cannot afford the unlimited R&D budgets of the big manufacturers to iron out flaws
    • I've played the Tour in both white and yellow.  They play well and seem to hold up pretty good even when running into trees or cart paths.  Right now, I've been trying them against the Bridgestone Tour B RX ball and I really like both.  The Snell 3.0 looks to be a great update to the issues Snell was running into with the previous generation.
