Maybe it was outsourced to Venus due to cheaper labor costs.

The last time that happened to me, she was reported missing too long and the superintendent came out looking for her. She's gone now for fooling around and I feel terrible. I felt great then, but now it's bothering me.

I wouldn't let it bother you with any feelings of guilt unless she was a blood relative.

Totally off-topic --- But why did they stop selling Mars Bars here in the U.S.?

This is too funny. This same topic just came up at another golf site. We kinda determined that only some parts of the country still get Mars bars (or some parts just don't know that the wrapper changed

). I am boring with the snack, just Gatorade and trail mix or cashews. Funny snack story - playing in Myrtle Beach last year with the guys mentioned above and we are walking back to our carts and notice a squirrel, just off of the cart path, eating peanuts out of a sandwich bag... we were all cracking up until my friend realized it was his bag of nuts. The squirrel took them right out of the golf cart. Now that was funny.

Haha! Those little bastards always make off with the goods! Last year I was robbed for a 1/2 sandwich and an un-opened Reese's!!! We just saw 2 squirrels climb into the cart and snatch my stuff. My group and I were busting up laughing on the tee box as he scampered off into the trees.

Imagine my surprise to learn on a golf fourm about Mars bars disappearing from the American scene, at least under the name "Mars" bar. Now if I could just figure out what name PoDo golf balls are sold under and why Walgreen's doesn't sell them anymore.

Haha, right. Yeah, it's an in-between with me. I LOVE the hot dog at the turn but at the same time I notice it'll usually throw me off my game. I do good with a bottle of water and a couple snack bars. But damn....love those hot links...

I come from a Ironman triathlon background and nutrition is the most important part of every race. I seem to have taken this mentality on to the golf course. I have lots of water and I take a water bottle I pre-mixed with a special electrolyte mix in it. For food i often use powerbars or the like, or for that qick hit of energy a gel like 'gu'. Like I said these are all triathlon food that provide a slow release of energy ofver a prolonged period.

BIGDog (Jase)

I must admit I do love a beer at some stage during the round and nothing beats reliving the great shots over a couple of ales after the game.

I've inhaled the big bag of potato chips in a round before. That had to be two or three thousand calories. I prolly have you beat here.

Wow... You Win!

End result, by the first of this year, I was fat as hell. Since then, I've forced myself to get over to the gym five times a week, and these days I'm watching what I eat.

Eating a hot dog while making the turn will mess with your game, for better or worse. Today, after eating one, I hooked the hell out of two shots on the 10th, out of bounds. But, last time I cranked a 300 yard drive down the middle.

    • You’ve yet to propose anything else. And yet it was, and the rules tell you how to deal with it. Your question has been answered. The Committee can declare them GUR. I disagree with your assessment of common sense. 😀 And yet they didn’t really change this one. Looks like this is about wrapped up? “That Rule is So Unfair!” A Rules Geek’s Generalized Guide to Hot Takes and Overreactions | Rules Geeks I apologize for the length of this post. If I had more time I’d have written a shorter one. – Erik J...
    • When you are penalized for hitting into the sand trap the penalty is having to hit it out of the sand, not out of three inches of water. A sand trap is not the same as a water hazard. A sand trap is not supposed to be under water. It is a unique condition caused  by weather and poor drainage. Most local leagues like ours allow the free drop in this type of situation, as long as there is no area in the bunker to legally drop. This is what I’m talking about, sometimes the official rules of golf don’t align with common sense. That’s why they are finally starting to change them. For example, when wind blows your ball off the green. That was a stupid rule. People being able to call the tv network to say they saw a players ball move. That was a stupid rule. I’m just saying, these are rules made up a long time ago, and it’s time to modernize them.
    • Consider it another way: normally, it's a two-stroke penalty to move your ball out of a bunker (unplayable). The ACC reduces it to just one.
    • No, hitting into a hazard that is supposed to be avoided and is designed to be penalizing is not the same as hitting it into the middle of the fairway.   You are penalized because you hit it into a hazard. Based on your logic let's say you hit it into a red staked penalty area and you could normally play it but it's in temporary casual water from rain. Would you expect a free drop from there too??
    • They could have declared it GUR, sure. It is. It's temporary water, and as I said before, an abnormal course condition (ACC). That's what rule 16 is about — ACCs. No, a bunker ≠ the middle of the fairway. You are penalized because you hit it into a bunker. As for the rest… let's stick to the topic. Yep.
