I've always been a guy to play stiff stock driver shafts but have decided to upgrade and am looking for something better.  I play the R9 super tri and have a swing speed around 115mph.  I'm looking for something with the mid launch and a low/mid spin in the weight range of 66-73g.  The price range I'm looking at is 200-350.  Any suggestions?

This is a great shaft, but price is too much.  You should find one for under $100.00.

Great shaft, but bad marketing priced too much(over $300 3 years ago)  I have had mine for 2 years and love it.  I hit it further than the Nunchuck by a touch, but the Nunchuck is straighter,

I've got an Aldila RIP 70X for sale on eBay right now.  My SS is a little higher than yours and I feel like this shaft it too whippy for me.  I've pulled it from my driver and will be going back to a UST.  At 115, I wouldn't be scared of the 70X.  Let me know if you're interested.

I started to scroll down to post a link to this very shaft!!  Robin is turning out some awesome shafts.  I'm going to put a 6 iron together with one of his iron shafts and take it for a spin.  I have his Tour SL in my driver and love it.

I have also heard great things about the Excalibur shafts that were linked to above, and at $50 why not give that a try.

I have the RIP 60 in my D2 and I love it... although if I could get one of those SureFit sleeves cheap enough I might get one of the Excalibur shafts just to give a try.

I just tested a couple different shafts a few weeks ago at a Nike tourney and would have to say the best fit for my swing was the Fubuki Tour 73x. It beat out comparable Whiteboard, RIP and UST Mamiya options. I would still like to try the newer version of the Fubuki (the Alpha) since it has lower torque numbers, but they are a hard shaft to find when it comes to demos. I would love to pull the trigger and pickup one of these babies, but I am still having a hard time justifying spending that kind of coin on a single shaft. I think I might try and pick up a used version down the road and in the meantime use the funds to pickup some Project X shafts for my irons.

With your SS, I would think you should be fine swinging 60x-70x shafts. It will also depend on your lofts and swing plain/angle of attack. I would check out some of the different shaft manufactures websites and see if they will be coming to a local course near you. Mark the dates on your calendar and give'em a shot!
