Hello everyone from the Portland, Oregon area

Good afternoon or evening or morning!

I am a relatively new golfer and after lurking a bit here decided to buck up and join.

I am 44 and have golfed off and on very occasionally over the years.

Let me put it in perspective. The last time I golfed was over 10 years ago at a local par 3. lol.

Anyway, I have decided to learn the game and enjoy range time as well as the occasional 9 or more rounds.

I want to be good at what I do (hopefully) and plan on playing as much as I can.

I recently bought some used irons on Ebay (Ping Eye 2s). I am not fitted for them but decided to take the chance and see if they work for me.

I also bought a Big Bertha 15 deg. 3 wood as well. Just waiting for it to arrive.

Also my oldest boy who is 9 is showing some interest in golfing too.

I hope to also take some lessons to have the correct swing and go from there.

Glad to be here, meet all of you and hope I can learn. A lot.

Hey Alan!

I am brand new and havent started with any course visits yet.

But I am actually right across the river from Portland in Vancouver, Wa.

I am working on acquiring my equipment first followed by extensive visits to local driving range and hopefully some swing lessons as well as learning as much as I can before venturing out.

Thanks for the welcome and hopefully I can provide some insight once I become a bit more experienced.
