Hi I am a new golfer.  I have been looking at getting a wedge set and wanted to get the advice of more experienced golfers.  I am debating between the Tour Edge Golf - TGS 3 wedge set

http://www.rockbottomgolf.com/tour-edge-golf-tgs-stainless-3-wedge-set.html#

or the Tom Watson Adams Golf 3 wedge set

http://www.rockbottomgolf.com/adams-golf-tom-watson-pearl-satin-steel-3-wedge-set.html

From what I can tell from looking around the internet, most people think the Adams wedges are a great value, but I haven't been able to find much on the Tour Edge ones.  Thanks in advance for your help.

Check out the Tour Edge website. TE is a boutique club maker, but has it's own R&D; section: probably best known for the Exotics fairway wood line.

As far as the two brands go, they are similar. Both give medium bounce. The TE Triple Grind Sole has heel and toe relief (metal shaved away) to allow greater opening or closing of the clubface with less turf drag and chance of blading the shot. (helps leading edge stay flush to the turf)

TGS is equivalent to the Dynamic Sole Grind in Cleveland, and C-grind in Callaway. Titleist Vokey sole options offer good variety on this.

The Watson 3-set has wider soles, but also says the head design allows for easier opening and closing the clubface.

One difference: The TGS wedge shafts appear to all be 35.25" long. This means less distance change from club to club.

Any chance you can test these out? An untried set of wedges is one of the last things I'd be willing to buy online. Any chance for an in-person test hit on the sets? Lots of golf shops carry these sets.

Focus, connect and follow through!

I have the Adams Watson 58* wedge - its a great club, but has a relatively flat leading edge - not slightly curved like traditional Vokey designed wedges.      Its a great value - nothing bad to say about it for the price ....

Definetly go with the Watsons.  Theyre great wedges.
