What's up from Raleigh, NC...

Hey Gang,

First let me say thanks for allowing me to join the community. So far I have really enjoyed parking my golf bag here at the clubhouse. Well I am a relative newbie to the game of golf I suppose. I started playing a few years ago with a set of Acuity clubs that I bought from Dicks Sporting Goods. I sucked pretty bad with those and thought that I would never be able to enjoy a decent round. A friend told me that I probably should upgrade to a better set of clubs before I give up on the game. I think he was hoping that I bought the new set, still suck, and end up giving away the clubs. Well I bought a new set of irons (Callaway Diablo Edge) this past April and all I can say is wow. I still suck but I suck a lot less than I used. I guess that's why I say that I am a relative newbie. I hope with some practice and more playing time I will actually play a round of golf without wanting to commit mass murder on a few of my clubs.

welcome to the board!  i'm in charlotte, but i get out to raleigh about 4 times a year for work.  PLENTY of good golfin' here in the carolinas.  i will shoot you a PM the next time i will be out that way and maybe we can hit the links.

i'm almost 4 months in, so i still suck too!   :)
