I've been golfing for about 3 years now and I've been using this set for about a year. Im in the Florida area so I get to golf year round and least once every 2 weeks.

I started out with GI Tour Edge clubs and they suited me pretty well when I started out. After I felt like I outgrew them I did a hapzard search for my next set without doing any real concrete research. I read a couple of reviews on how good the Pi7's were and was able to find them on a good deal.

I generally shoot around 100, so certainly Im not that great, but moreso I've felt with these irons I've been on a steady decline in my progress at becoming a better golfer. I went back to look at more reviews online i was noticing that it seemed like these clubs were more suited for a low handicap golfer than me.

Am I reading too much into this? I played with my friends R7's the other day and I was hitting the mess out of them. They had much more feedback than my Wilson's and were consistently straighter. Then again, its also been said that sometimes we swing more freely with someone else's clubs because its "new to me". So who knows.

Im rambling at this point, so if you are still reading, what is your take on this? I'd really appreciate it. I dont mind looking into another set if I have to. I'll gladly by some used R7's if thats where I am right now. I dont have to have the latest and greatest nor the fanciest or best looking club. Just want them to work for me.

Thanks.

I think there's no something like - too godd/too bad - clubs are clubs - you have to adapt them to yourself, someone can play well with taylormades, someone can play with some other clubs - it depends on player :)

If you fail to hit the center of the club consistently you pay a big penalty with small headed, forged clubs. If you don't like the look of sgi club there are clubs such as Wilsons own CI-9 which split the difference.

1W Cleveland LauncherComp 10.5, 3W Touredge Exotics 15 deg.,FY Wilson 19.5 degree
4 and 5H, 6I-GW Callaway Razr, SW, LW Cleveland Cg-14, Putter Taylor Made Suzuka, Ball, Srixon XV Yellow

I played for a good while with a set of Pi7's and the sole grinds on those clubs are what made them difficult for me. I how smack the piss out of them at the range, but on the course I found that they didn't interact with the turf very well.

For a cast club, they do have great feedback, though.

I can understand what you are saying, but I have to disagree with that. I mean clubs can be too good...or maybe i mean too advanced for me. Thats what Im trying to drive at. You wouldnt give titleist blades to a beginner, nor wide sole GI irons to a pro. i just wanted to see where I sat it in these sorts of terms.
