Has anyone out there hit the bang-o-matic irons? I would like to know if they are worth anything.

Just ordered a BANG golf Bang-o-matic Driver, 46" Aldila NVS 65 x-stiff, w spine alignment assembly, I'll be slaping it around really soon...I can't believe there was some, Japanese named shaft...not Fujikora that was $1000 as an option. I have a bang golf driver now and I usually don't hype up products, but when I demo'd the Mellow Yellow driver (you can get them for around $100 new) I was sure it was illegal. 30 yards longer than the brand new Speedlines, Titlelists, Taylor Mades.

At first I thought "Bang-O-Matic" was a joke. The name sounds like a Boardwalk Game - hit the wobbly ball with the crooked club  and win a teddy bear,  or a joke commercial by Saturday Night Live.

Anyway I checked the website.

The irons are "classic". Clones and semi-clones of Hogan's.

They have even cloned the square Nike driver right down to the "Clang"!

Words like Semi-Forged always worry me, no matter who's label is on them.

They are not clubs I would buy without handling and hitting first. The issue is that I'm not likely to run into them. They are not in the stores, and the stores don't take no-names as trade ins. That leaves the junk barrels at Play-it-Again Sports.

"Quick Dorthy....the oil can!"

i know exactly how you feel about the "semi-forged" comment...i have a tour edge exotics cb3 tour driver and the "combo brazing tour distance" on the toe of the club looks and sounds rather cheesy. if i had not been sold on the TEE cb2 3w 15* (much more attractive "beta Ti brazing cup face" on the heal in almost hidden grey letters against the steel) and how long this club is. i knew the combo brazing process did in fact help with feel and make shots more powerful and know when i hit it right or wrong.

and its funny cause even though i just bought a "new" driver with somewhat the same face technology  ive been interested in bang golf drivers just to have and try. i like the "bangster" cause of its smoked finish but just scared to pull the trigger. i was scared to pull the trigger on my cb3 tour because its a low spin driver for more control and a forged face which i can only assume improves control as well much like a forged iron.

any info on BangGolf's their best club? or are they all mostly very long just different names and colors?

also anybody heard of krankgolf ? they have some sick looking drivers and fairway woods that are relatively the same as Bang. just curious on how legal these companies are. and if they are even legit.

They are legit. All Drivers for Bang are USGA legal except for 2 out of the 18 or so they produce. I don't know about the irons and probably won't ever know. I really like the cg-16; But as far as the driver I've tried, Mellow Yellow, it's absolutely awesome...I won't put how far I hit it on here because it causes a backlash of harsh non-believers. But it was 15 yards longer than my favorite driver that I cracked; And about 25 yards longer than all the big names that i hit. Even though the Mellow Yellow came out 8 years ago.

As far as no-names go. You have to remember the Taylor Made bubble burner was an infomercial with little more credability than "Bang, Pow, Yeah" Jack Hamm's the Hammer. Except they had a quality product and TM became huge. Companies that are at the top of any market have the money and ability to discredit, buy out, and discourage small competitors. Look at Budweiser-inbev 48% market share of beer, despite its horrible product. They pound the sheep with advertisement and mind numbing repetition.

Adams for instance sent me a free replacement Speedline 10 when I busted the discontinued Adams Insight Square driver. The Speedline was completely dead...not the line, but that driver. They offered me an F11 at cost and I turned it down because the Bang driver I own now is flat out better.

Bang makes serious gear for golfers and long drive competitors.  They also make off the wall "novelty" products and special "niche" products.  They were making a maraging steel face hybrid long before anyone else and they make it from 12* up to 61* in case you have a client that wants/needs something unavailable from the big factories.

Designer Steve Almo had several designs with Bang including the Bang-O-Matic which was used to set some long drive, (and world) records in competition.  He left at some point and formed his own company called Geek Golf where he designed the "Dot Com This" (USGA conforming) driver head which was used by Mike Dobynn to hit a 551 yard world record and to win several long drive competitions.  Geek also makes a non-conforming driver head.

Krank, I don't know much about except that they're used in competition, fairly pricey, and usually built with expensive, very stout shafts.

At some point I'm probably going to pick up a Geek "Fail Safe" head but I haven't got around to it yet, (love the head covers).

Yea that in some way compares to Adams golf and their new Speedline LD driver thats promoted by that long drive champion Jamie Sadlowski (who apparently hit a forged blade putter 276 yards? youTube it) and that Bang has a product just more "underground". Ive been interested in Bang Golf because i wanted a driver that nobody had plus was known for hitting it LONGGG but it wasnt till recently i saw BangGolf on the WLDC website in the product section. so i assumed they must be good. only worry was the mixed reviews on its control and that it isnt the easiest club to hit in terms of control? I already find my Tour Edge Exotics CB3 Tour driver relatively hard enough to hit. (even though i got it maybe a month ago and have hit it barely a dozen or more times)

i noticed how pricey they are and half the battle (or to most peoples standards ALL the battle) is the shaft. which they produce most of the former clubs with a "Fujikura Diesel" shaft. which just sounds dirty haha and their newest one is an "Aldila Authority" with tour options? they seem legit but like you said, they are expensive and im not very willing to pay for something im unsure i'll enjoy. Or even be ABLE to hit.

Ive also seen alot of GeekGolf drivers on eBay...Whats their story? in most cases they are better known than Krank but lesser known to Bang...at least in my eyes.

What are they like? if anybody has any info
