Besides the 10 gram weight difference, what are the differences? What would the benefits of either?

The difference is 10 grams.

Seriously though, say you are comparing a UST Proforce Gold V2 65 to a UST Proforce Gold V2 75 then the difference is torque, the 65 comes in at 3* and the 75 at 2.2*, otherwise the specs for the two are basically identical.

To explain it simply what normally happens is that as you go up in weight your shot dispersion decreases as does distance, lighter shaft equals more distance and heavier shaft equals more fairways hit but a bit less distance but there are plenty of other variables that come in to it. The difference between the two shafts mentioned above would be negligible, I highly doubt that you or I would even pick the difference.

This is the sort of question you need to be asking of your clubfitter and trying for yourself on a launch monitor. One of those two shafts will give you slightly better numbers (dependant upon the numbers you are looking for) and a launch monitor under the guidance of a good clubfitter is the way to work this out.

Heavier shaft would reduce spin... From what I know following are some information regarding shaft flex, weight, face angles etc.

1. Stiffer tip shaft reduces spin 2. Stiffer flex shaft also reduces spin 3. Heavier shaft reduces spin. Cause & Effect Relationships Launch Angle Backspin More Loft Increased launch angle Increased backspin Less Loft Decreased launch angle Decreased backspin Face Impact - Low Heel Decreased launch angle Increased backspin Increased fade spin Face Impact - Low Toe Decreased launch angle Increased backspin Increased draw spin Face Impact - High Heel Increased launch angle Decreased backspin Increased fade spin Face Impact - High Toe Increased launch angle Decreased backspin Increased draw spin Face Impact - High Center Increased launch angle Decreased backspin Face Impact - Low Center Decreased launch angle Increased backspin Stiffer Tip Shaft Lower launch angle Lower backspin Softer Tip Shaft Higher launch angle Higher backspin Stiffer Flex Shaft Negligible effect Lower backspin Softer Flex Shaft Negligible effect Higher backspin Heavier Weight Shaft Negligible effect Lower backspin Lighter Weight Shaft Negligible effect Higher backspin Also, I am not really sure about this one but I think you can have heavier swing weight OPTIONS for heavier shafts vs lighter weight shafts. Hope this helps.

More benefits are derived from the actual torque (as opposed to the manufacturers claimed torque) and actual cpm frequency numbers related to the stiffness (as opposed to the R, S, X designation printed) for a given shaft and how it fits in with a players swingspeed and tempo than the difference between 65 grams and 75 grams. It may play a role in the whole scheme of things when combined with other measurements, but it certainly isn't the most important and how a shaft should be selected. A 65 gram shaft could help if you're looking for the finished length of the club to be longer.

    • Day 34 (3 Jun 25) -  Similar drill work today as yesterday, except I was using the MacGregor blades and Penna persimmons…love taking on these older clubs and working to get results similar to my gamers.  That said, these clubs are generally less forgiving so it really focuses the attention (discipline) to stay in the process and not just swing for swinging sake.
    • Day 246 - 2025-06-03 Played 17 holes. Skipped 11 to bypass a slow AF twosome.
    • I assumed we'd have two S - the foam balls and the stick. Yeah. Tough to mess up, always handy. Alas… And, yeah. I like some of the training aids for students, but on their own, left to their own devices… people use them badly/incorrectly a lot.
    • I was surprised the alignment stick didn't get an S. Seems like cost / benefit / risk of harm is about as good as you can get. Assuming you don't hit the alignment stick with the club.  I also could tell there was a struggle with the caveat "without an instructor". It seems some of the training aids that got lower marks can be useful in certain circumstances with certain students. I liked hearing comments, about when it was useful. The format allowed a nice conversation about those situations.  Some of these would also make for interesting videos. Gimmick clubs are also fun (to me).
    • I mean… no?
