can I shaft an Iron with a graphite shaft

So I built a beautiful set of Pinhawk single length Irons 5-PW; however, I order one short of the number of shafts I needed I have an extra Graphite shaft around that I ordered by Mistake. Can I put use it or should I just wait to get an extra shaft  that matches those I have in the set?

You can use a graphite shaft but you'd need to make sure it's the same tip size as the iron shafts.  Most graphite wood shafts have either .335 or .350 tips while irons usually have .355 taper tip or .370 parallel tips.  In the end, it's probably easier just to order a matching steel shaft.

He could use an aluminum rod too.

Point being you can shaft it with whatever you want or have.  But since you are building a matched set (especially a single length set), and just ordered one less shaft then needed, you should order the missing shaft and build a matched set.  They are in PA, you are in MI.  It will probably arrive the following day.
