what would somebody mean by saying you have a purist golf swing? Short story. Played a scramble and other team buddy wad on had an assistant pro at a local course and we were chatting it up. Other member told the pro that he needs to look at my swing because we always yap about my flaws. He told the pro that I wad a purist. Was he drunk just saying things or is there a term for a swing?

I've never really heard it. I've heard of hitting it "purely" or "pure" but never heard of a "purist" swing. A "purist" has a certain definition but I'm not sure how it applies to a swing.

Me either.

I'm not a purist as the main definition and I'm sure not good enough to translate as in "pure"...

I may just have to ask next time I see him.

I've never heard anyone say this. He's probably trying feel like he's a better golfer, so why have the "pro" take a look at his swing, too. ;)

A Purist is a person who stubbornly sticks to old tradition or pinciple based on nothing other than that principle. For example, I refuse to buy a 460cc drive because I'm a purist, and I like my old Tight Lies 8.5. Well, I really don't refuse to buy a new one because of that, but if I did, it would make me a purist.

I don't know what would make a swing a "purist" swing.
