HI I just stumble across this site and signed up immediately. Of all things, I was researching push/pull cart reviews when I found this site. Looks like a great site, hope to be here when I am not on the course.

I live in the Inland Empire area, have been away from golf for over 10 years, wasn't really into it so much. Recently went to the range to hit some balls, most to get away from my desk during lunch and got addicted right away.

I have been bouncing around with clubs and have finally settled (for now) on a driver, 3 wood, fairwaywood, set of irons and putter. Even busted the bucks for a new bag.

After going to play about 4 or 5 rounds, it was painfully apparent I needed lessons, so I went to my local course, took lessons and now try to play 2 - 3 times a week. Have a standing par 3 game in So. Pasadena on Thursday evenings, the rest of the time I am trying to con a friend into playing.

My wife loves the fact i am getting some exercise, I am more relaxed.

Now I am just checking outt different courses all over the LA, OC & SD area.

Score is dropping slowly, but dropping.

If you are in the so cal area and want to play a round, hit me up.

friends call me a "Golf Ho" since I will drive anywhere and play with pretty much anyone who has the time.

Welcome to the site!  This would be a good link for you to check out http://thesandtrap.com/a/welcome-to-the-sand-trap-community

and

I think you'll find this site to be a great golf "oasis"

I'm in San Diego and there are some really nice courses down here, Torrey Pines, Encinitas Ranch, Maderas

Hi Par 40, I'm in Southern California as well. Glad to hear you're getting settled. I've been here for just over two years. Would love to play a round sometime. Have you ever played over at Lost Canyons in Simi Valley?

Well as a self proclaimed golf-ho you have found the right place..... There are tonnes of great courses in the area and I am sure that you will find many other people willing to hit up the links with you. In fact I live in SoCal my self - Santa Monica - and am always up for a game. No regular time I just try and get our whenever I can.

    • A strong grip cups the wrist (lead) and then it wants to flatten through impact, something I used to be able to avoid to keep it from going left and protecting my forearm (the main premise of my set up). Longer the club, harder it is becoming. Either way, yes, I need to transition to gripping it open.
    • Why don't you grip it "open" so you can return your hand to the place where you're comfortable/not sore, but the ball won't go left? It's effectively weaker… without actually "being" weaker?
    • Day 47 - 2024-11-16 Light backswing work with about 3 or 4 rehearsals for every ball hit. Only about ten minutes while waiting for a potential member to show up (he was 25 minutes late). 😛
    • Idk but I would have to imagine that a putter that is aimed where you think it's aimed would be the most important aspect of a putter
