Hi everyone, I just joined the site yesterday and I'm very glad to find a place to share golf --- past, present, and future, on here with you all.

I have been involved in golf since my childhood, I love the game of golf and all the wonderful things it's brought me. It kept me close to my father when I was growing up and during the four years I worked for him on weekends as his caddy. I didn't play then, but later did start playing once he insisted "it was time". Now he's no longer with us but once in a while when I go out to the course I thank him in my thoughts and tell him what I do there is to bring honor to what he taught me. In my spirit, I will never let go of the memories of our times together while in pursuit of the sport. To this day I still use the same putter off and on he gave me to use in my first year of playing. It's a 1968 Shakespeare Gary Player.

I'm presently working to restore my game to seventies level golf and though I'm quite a bit older now (in my late fifties and a baby boomer lol ) I feel it's still achievable. Within me I have the will and inspiration that my dad bestowed on me and with good health, hard work performed, and discipline I know I'll be rewarded.

I played a lot in the Washington DC area, SE Texas, and now I live in eastern Iowa and found there's quite a large following of the sport here too. (Believe it or not!)

Areas I'll be exploring here are sports fitness, game improvements, equipment, and how to compete.

Take good care everyone!
