I wonder if anyone knows any good drills for controlling the use of the right shoulder on the downswing. From the top of my swing I tend to be flat footed and throw the shoulders at the ball. When I make a concious effort to fire the lower body I seem to throw the right shoulder even more.

Although I come into the ball from the inside through impact because of the action of my right shoulder the club does not extend down the target line therefore my divots tend to aim left.

I like to think of driving my right shoulder "down" rather than "at" or "around." I typically accomplish this by working on either the thought there - "going down with my shoulder" - or by focusing on my right elbow and connecting it to my pocket/hip. Doing the latter may help you with the flat-footed bit too and get a bit more turn and weight shift into your downswing.
