Equitable Stroke Control. I'm better than I thought!

IMO, esc rarely comes into play for the mid-low single cap, especially for a round that counts making it almost numerically insignificant.  In fact, the USGA changed the rule from taking a max of 6 on any hole to double bogey because some felt it was unfair to allow a triple on a par 3, but only a single on a par 5  even though after a year long pilot the double bogey rule had little to no impact on the single's handicap.

I agree - and always have - with your last sentence. I'm simply pointing out that ESC only does that, for the single digit handicapper, a very small percentage of the time. More so for higher handicappers (particularly on par fives because they aren't capped at "double bogey" they're capped at a hard score).

No disrespect was meant.  The facts mesh just fine with my opinions.
