Anyone else seen these things? They won't come out for quite a while I imagine but they match the new Cobra amp wood line. First week that Rickie has had them in the bag. They look alot like Titleist 712's without the logos if you ask me though... hmm

What I play-

Driver: Titleist 910 D3 8.5 degrees, aldila rip 70 X

3 wood: Titleist 910 F 13.5 degrees, aldila rip 70 X

2 iron: Mizuno mp fli-high 18 degrees, DG x100 shaft

4-PW: Titleist 712 mb

52: 2010 vokey 8 bounce

56: Taylormade rac smoke 12 bounce

60: Taylormade rac smoke 7 bounce

putter: scotty cameron newport 2

Yeah, there's already a thread about them, including that observation. Golfwrx is also all over them and a lot of people visit more than one golf forum. Then there's the twitter which I've only heard of at this point.

Gotta love the "Ricky" orange!

With that said, the club-head finish looks terrible. Looks cheap that way........they need to polish it and give it a nice finish.

My 2 cents...

The satin finish is pretty popular right now.

Golf.com has a short interview with Rickie where he discussed the new Cobras.  He said the irons were actually modeled after his old Titleists, so it is no surprise they look similar.  These were specially designed for him based on the specs of the Titleists he played.

Always changing:

Driver: Cobra S2/Nike VR Pro 10.5º

Irons: Callaway X-20 Tour 4-9i

Hybrid: Titleist 910H 19º & 21º

Wood: TaylorMade R11 3w

Putter: Odyssey White Hot

Wedges: Titleist Vokeys - 48º, 54º, 62º

First round: February 2011

For us older guys check out a photo of Mizuno MP-9's and compare it to these. The profile is almost identical. I'd say Mr. Fowler has very good taste indeed! If Cobra delivers clubs like this then switching brands was a good decision in many ways. Go Rickie!

I'm not 100% sure but it looks like a raw finish that hasn't had time to rust so we're probably looking at uncoated carbon steel instead of satin chrome. I also believe nearly everything is hand stamped which would explain the rough look. Cobra has beautiful satin chrome on their current blades and I suspect if these ever make it to production they will be much more "dressed up".

Agreed, not crazy about the finish either.Either a cheap looking satin, or a raw finish that simply hasn't rusted...I can't exactly tell. Although, the shape looks good.

    • I got another one today....Number 17. Par 5 that has water left and right on the layup. I smacked a drive down the left side and got a little lazy on the layup and fanned my 6 iron. With 112 to a crowned green I got it to 3 feet and birdie!  Only 5 and 15 is left for this year!
    • Maybe I didn’t explain this properly. Back and front can be confusing.  There was no place in the bunker that didn’t have 2-3 inches of rain water in it, except for a small spot on the slope nearest the pin. If I had dropped there I would be moving 6-7 feet closer to the hole. Since my ball was just inside the bunker, farthest side from the hole, I dropped one club length backward, which brought me out of the bunker. I could not have hit from that deep of water. Are you saying I would have had to take a penalty stroke due to rain water?
    • Day 550, May 5, 2024 Got a good hour in with a typical (for me) two-stick setup: pool noodle angled in front, yardstick on the ground angled 45° behind me.
    • Day 130: Cinco de Mayo Day 7/24 of Full Speed Spectrum training. Difficult training day after struggling to certify my warmup yesterday, and today. Finished 13 mph lower than my training speed on Thursday. Hope to hit some balls today.
    • Yeah, I think I misread that part. I read "in front of" and kinda skipped the rest.
