I bring the club inside on my backswing, I know this isn't textbook and everyone seems to be scared of doing this but it works perfectly for me? I play my best golf when I bring the club inside. I hit a lovely draw or it is straight and I feel like i can compress the ball alot better.

But i started trying to bring the club up more and had nothing but problems, shanks thins and a slice and there was no consistency in my ball striking, so I'm wondering if I should stay with this "textbook takeaway" or keep to my own natural 1 that I can play so well with?

I must be doing something right though ?or compensating for a flaw?

Brilliant article thanks!

1 of my problems is I always want to do things perfect or by the book.
