In old recordings, it sounds like someone dubbed in the sound of a golf club hitting a ball. Actually, I always found the thwack to be comical. When did we start hearing the actual sound of ball being struck?

Kill slow play. Allow walking. Reduce ineffective golf instruction. Use environmentally friendly course maintenance.
