No matter how much I look around the internet... I can't get a good answer.

Looking to buy a new putter.  I currently putt with a Yes Sophia... looks great... putts great... if you're great... otherwise... not so much so.

Look for something with a lot of MOI (obviously) but also something that if I hit it a little towards the toe or heel the distance won't be lost on me.  Any articles somebody could point me to?  Putters?  I don't know if I'm asking for a putter with a hot face as well... thanks!

I see Mike gave you the Bobby Grace link -- Grace has done a lot of insert work on putters that don't lose energy on off center hits. I'd go there first. I tried his insert rebound technology about 5 years ago when he first came out with it -- it works.

But remember, your issue may not be that severe - you may not need all of that help. I owned a couple of Yes putters when they first came out -- I noticed a severe loss of energy if it was hit slightly off the sweet spot -- the putter did try to correct for line -- but the ball lost energy and it felt .... bad.

But if your problem is bad -- go to bobby grace. You may not need a high MOI putter -- just the one with Bobby's technology ... maybe one of the AMG answer styles if you want something conventional.

    • Imma throw a dart in the dark as no one can tell what is happening once every fourth iron shot per your OP. This might sound counterintuitive but if ball position is too far back in the stance folks are known to throw down clubhead steeply. Could be happening. And yes, @billchaois not wrong; clubhead tends to bottom out wherever your pressure is. So slide forward (not sway), then hit.
    • Day 300 (!): did a stack session.
    • Day 24: Missed my weekly round due to a last minute little league makeup game this morning. Managed to get in some backswing rehearsals while grilling sausages for dinner, and then putted around the office/laundry room after dinner.
    • but I don't understand how that's possible you still want your head to stay back you don't want the upper body coming forward and plus I've tried feeling that and it made my fat shots worse and I then tend to pull and sky all my shots especially with driver because I get in front of it dont need force plates to see i finish on my left side
