Very true.  A lot of the time ego comes into play though and you get people playing stiff shafts who shouldnt be.

I definately agree that a lot of people think they swing a lot faster than they do (usually those guys that shoot 72 when they are alone and then 98 when they golf with other people).  I just try to be an advocate for the mid-high handicappers that take flak from some of the lower handicappers through these gross generalizations. (another bad one is players irons but I won't get off topic)
