Will any shaft do?

If I was able to get an R11 head without a shaft would any regular flex shaft of X length do or do I need a shaft with a special adapter?

The adjustable hosel has a sleeve you install on the shaft tip so you can swap them out, and there are .335 and .350 shaft tips on wood shafts. IDK which is on the R11, but you would need the right diameter shaft as well as the correct sleeve.

The swingweight will be possibly off depending on the shaft weight and length, since they add special weights to the head to adjust it. I also believe they use a lighter grip than normal.

Also, buying a head alone isn't a great idea; there are a lot of fakes and I don't know of any retail sources for heads only. If you don't trust the seller 100% then it's a red flag. No one is buying the R11 and keeping the stock shaft and selling the head, and the fully assembled club has a lot of value right now. TaylorMade likes to sell assembled clubs only, to keep control over quality and make sure it's used with their recommended specs. If it's not being sold from an official TM authorized dealer, who shouldn't be selling clubheads anyway, there's a good chance it's counterfeit. There are thousands of fake R11s and other clubs that get made in China and passed off on Ebay and otherwise.
